How do I edit or remove an Action from an element on my page?

NOTE: This article contains changes as per the February 2013 release.

You can edit or remove actions you’ve added to elements on your page a couple different ways.

Elements with Actions display an icon in the upper left corner (as well as in the Actions panel) denoting:

  • Show Elements
  • Hide Elements
  • Toggle Elements
  • Animate
  • Player Controls
  • Play Media
  • Pause Media
  • Toggle Media Playback
  • Replay Media
  • Multiple Actions

You can use the Layers panel to select a specific element if you have a lot on one page. When an element with an action is selected in the Layers panel, all targets for the event are highlighted with a red dashed line in the panel. You can easily see what targets are linked to the event.

You can also use the Actions panel to select a specific element with an action. The action's trigger elements are listed in the panel. You can expand or collapse the targets of the action by clicking the arrows to the left of the action trigger's name. When an element with an action is selected in the Actions  panel, all targets for the event are highlighted with a red dashed line on the stage. You can easily see what targets are linked to the action.

To edit an Action:

  1. Double-click the element with an Action (or select it and click the Edit button on the toolbar or the top half of the Actions button on the Interaction tab).
  2. The Element Animation right properties panel opens. You can add a new Action or select an Action in the list and click the Edit button. NOTE: If you select the ACTION on the element in the Actions panel, Edit mode is open immediately.
  3. Make the changes you want.
  4. Click the Apply button to accept changes you make.
  5. Click the Done button when you're finished.

To delete an Action:

  1. Double-click the element with an Action (or select it and click the Edit button on the toolbar or the top half of the Actions button on the Interaction tab).
  2. The Element Animation right properties panel opens. Select the Action and click the Edit button. NOTE: If you select the ACTION on the element in the Actions panel, Edit mode is open immediately.
  3. Click the Remove button to delete the Action.
  4. Click the Done button when you're finished.
