What is the difference between Question feedback and Choice feedback?

In Claro, there are two categories of feedback: Question Feedback and Choice Feedback.

Question Feedback can be set for responses that are correct, incorrect, partially correct, incorrect attempt (practice questions only) and partially correct attempt (practice questions only).

In addition to having Question Feedback, you can also add individual Choice Feedback to applicable question types: Fill In The Blanks, Multiple Choice, and Multiple Pulldowns. For this type of feedback, you can enter text along side each of your question choices to be displayed with your Question Feedback. Which Choice Feedback will be displayed is determined by the Choice Feedback Settings found on the Details tab of the Question Properties panel.

Below are some examples of Question and Choice Feedback.

Question Feedback

Correct
: This is the message delivered to the learner when the question is correctly answered.

Incorrect: This is the message delivered to the learner when the question is incorrectly answered.

Partially
Correct: This is the message delivered to the learner when part of the question is correctly answered. This feedback is only applicable to questions that have more than one correct answer.

Note: The learner must select more correct answers than incorrect to get a Partially Correct feedback. If the learner selects equal number of correct and incorrect responses, or more incorrect than correct responses, they will be given an Incorrect feedback. This is to prevent learners from selecting all the options provided in hopes of receiving a partial score. However, this is not true for Fill In The Blanks questions, since the learner must provide the answers themselves rather than select them from the provided options. See the examples below:

Incorrect
Attempt: Practice Questions may have multiple attempts enabled, if a learner answers one of these attempts incorrectly, the Incorrect Attempt feedback is delivered. When this feedback is presented, the Submit button is replaced by a Try Again button. If any of the attempts are answered correctly, the Correct feedback will be presented. If the final attempt is not answered correctly, the learner will be presented with either Incorrect or Partially Correct feedback.

Partially
Correct Attempt: Practice Questions may have multiple attempts enabled, if a learner answers gets only part of one of these attempts correct, the Partially Correct Attempt feedback is delivered. When this feedback is presented, the Submit button is replaced by a Try Again button. If any of the attempts are answered correctly, the Correct feedback will be presented. If the final attempt is not answered correctly, the learner will be presented with either Incorrect or Partially Correct feedback.

Note: You can set default question feedback for all of the above by selecting the Default button on the Question tab of the authoring tool ribbon.

Choice Feedback

Include Feedback for Learner Selections: This type of feedback is only applicable to multiple choice (multiple select) questions. When building question pages in Claro, you have the options of entering separate feedback for each potential answer. This type of feedback allows you to present the learner with the feedback specific to their selections.

Include Feedback for Correct Choices
: This type of feedback is available for multiple choice (multiple select), multiple pulldowns and fill-in-the-blanks questions. With this option selected, learners will be presented with the individual feedback that corresponds to the correct choices.

Note: The example below is showing both Question feedback and Correct Choice feedback.

Include Feedback for Incorrect Choices: This type of feedback is available for multiple choice (multiple select), multiple pulldowns and fill-in-the-blanks questions. With this option selected, learners will be presented with the individual feedback that corresponds to the incorrect choices.

Note: The example below is showing Choice feedback only.
