How do I create my own Submit, Try Again, and Next buttons for Questions?

Submit

Claro's Test and Practice Questions use a default Submit button. This button cannot be edited or moved, however, you can create your own Submit button:

  1. From the Question tab, select Disable Submit.
  2. Now create your own button. Select the Insert tab.
  3. From the Widget section, select Button and choose your preferred color.
  4. Place the button on the desired location of the stage. The Button Properties will open.
  5. From the Details tab, you can give your button a Title, Alt. Text, Rounded Corners, a Label and even assign Custom CSS Properties.
  6. Select the Actions button at the bottom of the Button Properties Panel. This will open the Action Type right fly-out.
  7. Select Player Controls and then select Next. This will open the Element Interactions panel for the button.
  8. Set the desired Trigger and Delay, and choose Submit the current question from the Function pulldown.
  9. Select Apply.
  10. Select Preview to test your new button.
  11. If you're satisfied with the button, select Done.

Try Again and Next

Unlike Test Questions, Practice Questions allow the ability to permit learners multiple attempts. If a learner answers incorrectly after the first attempt, the Submit button becomes a Try Again button. After the final attempt has been made a Next button will appear. If you have followed the steps above to create your own Submit button, you may also want to replace the Try Again and Next buttons to match:

Create New Buttons

  1. Select your newly-made Submit button.
  2. From the Home tab, change the number of Copies to two.
  3. Deselect the Offset Paste button so that all three buttons will appear in the exact same location.
  4. Select Copy and then the downward arrow of the Paste button.
  5. Select Paste with Actions.
  6. From the Layers panel on the left of the stage, rename the three button from top to bottom in this order: Next, Submit, and Try Again. This ensures they're layered correctly.

Add New Action to Submit

  1. From the layers panel, double-click the Submit button to open the Button Properties.
  2. Select Actions from the Button Properties panel.
  3. Select Add, and choose Toggle Elements from the dropdown menu.

  5. Select Apply.
  6. Select Add and choose Show from the dropdown menu.
  7. Drag the Submit button from Elements and place it in Targets.

  10. Select When any attempt is correct from the Trigger pulldown.
  11. Select Apply.
  12. Select Add.
  13. Select Show Element. Ensure Next is in the Targets list and leave Set "Hidden On Load" for target elements  selected.
