My screen has a maximum 1024x768 resolution. How can I configure my browser for best viewing?

We recommend at least 1280×1024 pixels as the display setting on your monitor when working in Claro. If you have a maximum 1024×768 resolution, there are a few things you can do to optimize your viewing.

To optimize your browser view and see more of what you’re creating in Claro:

  • View at Full Screen
  • Hide all your tool-bars
  • Zoom Out
  • Hide your taskbar or dock

NOTE: Be aware that when using Zoom in some browsers, some enlargements may cause problems with the display of the Claro ribbon bar tabs and tool bars (or other tools). In these cases, return to 100% or normal zoom (generally, COMMAND or CTRL+0).

See below for specifics on how to do these things in each of the common browsers and systems.

Chrome

  • View menu OR Tool menu button> Enter Full Screen OR Full Screen button (CONTROL+COMMAND+F on a Mac, F11 on a PC)
  • View menu OR Tool menu button> Options> uncheck “Always Show Bookmarks Bar” (or SHIFT+CONTROL+B on a Mac)
  • View OR Tool menu button> Zoom Out (COMMAND+Minus on a Mac, CTRL+Minus on a PC)

Firefox

NOTE:  In Windows, press the Alt key to open the menu bar to see the View menu.

  • View> Toolbars> uncheck all toolbars
  • View> Full Screen (when viewing Full Screen, you can roll your cursor up to the top of the screen to see other tabs if you need to switch to another) (SHIFT+COMMAND+F on a Mac, F11 on a PC)
  • View> Zoom Out (COMMAND+Minus on a Mac, CTRL+Minus on a PC)

Internet Explorer

NOTE:  In Windows, press the Alt key to open the menu bar to see the View menu.

  • View> Toolbars> uncheck all toolbars
  • View> Full Screen (when viewing Full Screen, you can roll your cursor up to the top of the screen to see other tabs if you need to switch to another) (F11)
  • View> Zoom Out (CTRL+Minus)

Safari

NOTE: In Windows, press the Alt key to open the menu bar to see the View menu.

  • View> Hide Toolbar (You may also want to hide other bars like Bookmarks, Tabs, Status if you have them shown)
  • View> Enter Full Screen (CONTROL+ COMMAND+F)
  • View> Zoom Out (COMMAND+Minus)

Hide Taskbar and Dock

On a PC, you may also want to unlock and auto-hide your taskbar to prevent the bottom taskbar and icons from getting in the way. Right-click the taskbar and select Properties. Uncheck “Lock the taskbar” and check “Auto-hide the taskbar”. The taskbar will then hide. If you need to access a tool, move your cursor down to the very bottom of your screen.

On a Mac, you may also want to hide your dock and icons. Click System Preferences and Dock in the Personal area. Check “Automatically hide and show the Dock”. If you need to access a tool, move your cursor to the very edge of your screen where your dock is positioned.
