Password Configuration

dominKnow sets standard password policies for all SaaS clients. Standard policies may change as required and will require clients to update their passwords.


Enterprise clients can request to adjust the standard password configurations to best meet their internal requirements.

Password options include:

 

Option Description Default
Setting a password maximum length
Password can not exceed this length. Unlimited
Setting a password minimum length Password must be at least this length. 8
Password Uniqueness The number of times a password is changed before you can reuse the same password again. 0
Maximum Repeating Characters
The number of characters in a password that can be repeated sequentially. 0
Maximum Age (days) How long a password is valid for before it will expire and must be reset. Unlimited
Minimum Age (mins) The minimum length a password (in mins) lasts before another reset of the password can be requested. Unlimited
Password Expiry Notification The user will be notified of password expiration when the password is this number of days from expiration. 14
Verify Accessing Machine When logging in, the machine used to access the system is verified.  Off
Verify Accessing Machine by Cookies A cookie is stored on the machine to validate if it has been used to access the system previously. If it hasn't, a verification code is sent to validate the machine.  Off
Verify Accessing Machine by IP Address A check against IP address is used to validate if it has been used to access the system previously. If it hasn't, a verification code is sent to validate the machine. Off 
Password Character Rules Use character rules to require or exclude certain characters from passwords.  On
Password Possess One Lower Case Character User passwords must have one character that is lower case.  On
Password Possess One Upper Case Character User passwords must have one character that is upper case.  On
Password Possess One Number User passwords must have one character that is a number.  On
Password Possess One Special Character User passwords must have one character that is a special character, such as: ! @ #  On
Password Excludes Certain Characters User passwords must not include these characters.  @ /
Password Possess No Empty Space User passwords must not have any blank spaces in the password.  On
