Adding a background to a Section on a Flow page is a great design idea. But images are often very complex visually and it can be hard to read text over them.

One way to help the text be more readable is to add a background color with a transparency setting to the text. The background helps the text stand out against the image while the transparency means the image can still be seen behind the text so the effect is added depth to your page.

In this lesson we’ll add the transparent backgroun...

Flow pages have no fixed height. You can add as much content as you need or want.

This means you can use scrolling as a design experience.

You see this in many modern websites, or even in social media apps where scrolling is the basic way of navigating content.

This lesson shows how to add a Blank section template to a Page.

Steps to add a Tab set component from the Engage tab to an empty Placeholder on a Flow Page.

Engage components have their own internal responive behavior when used in Flow pages. Tab sets, for example, can change from a horizontal tab set to a vertical accordion menu based on breakpoint. This provides a better user experience on a narrower screen such a smartphone held in portrait orientation.

Steps to assign the value of a Text Input box to a variable so it can be saved and used later in a course or other project.

In this example, we've previously added the Text Input box to the page.

dominKnow | ONE doesn't automatically create a variable and assign it to the Text Input box because we can't predict what your design intention is. You might wish to use a variable already created on another page in the same project, for example, or you may not even wish to save the typed-in text a...

Steps to add a Glossary definition to a word. Learners will see the word underlined. When they roll over the word, a shortened version of the definition will be shown. If they click the word, a full definition will be shown in a Pop Up panel above the page. For courses, the term will also be added to the course's Glossary list available on the Menu of the Course Player.

In a Flow page, the height of a Section is set by the height of the content it contains by default. You can override that default height, though, and tell the Section to behave as if its height is a ratio based on the height of the browser window it’s being viewed within. Along with that height setting, you can set the content within the Section to align within the Section’s new height. It’s a great design idea for creating a dramatic full-height Section on your page.

In this lesson we’ll s...

A very dramatic responsive design idea is to use an image as the background behind a section.

If you add a parallax effect, as the user scrolls down the page the background image and the content over it will scroll at different speeds. This creates a sense of depth.

This lesson outlines the steps to add an image background to a Section on the Flow page and set it to a slow parallax effect.

Editing text in a text element is almost exactly the same in Flow and Claro.

In both modes you double-click on the text element to be able to enter. When you're finished your edits you select either another element or a blank area of the page to leave the text element. At that point the changes you made will be saved.

In this example we change the default text in two elements previously added to the Flow page by adding a Section.

Steps to add a pre-made Section to a Flow page.

There is a wide range of available Sections that can be used by following these steps. This example shows adding a Section with a Title and Subtitle.

Adding multiple Sections to a Flow page is a great way to create a longer, scrolling experience for your learners.
