Import Claro Page into Flow

Hi there, I thought I heard or saw somewhere that it's possible to import Claro content into a Flow project (kind of like Rise can use Storyline blocks...).

Is there an automated type way to do that? I thought about exporting a package and using a WebWindow, but seems like there should be a simpler way and I'm just not figuring it out yet.

Thanks!

I'm curious about why you would want to bring Claro content into Flow when Flow can do almost everything Claro can, with the exception of a few things that don't work well in responsive.

The idea of Claro content in Flow and Flow content in Claro is something we've been looking at. We don't simply want to do like the compeitors you note because that approach doesn't produce a cohesive integration (ie styles, fonts, scaling issues, performance bloat, no API or native functions to assess/trigger/action etc..). We know the main reason for the competitor to hammer one products output into another was largely driven by the limited amount of features in the product. So adding another tools content into their limited product makes the limited product seem more capable without having to build out a large amount of new native features. Problem that their approach introduced is a failure on the mandate of the limited product, to be a responsive, mobile first content creation tool. Inserting "slides" based, scaling content into a responsive tool is a side step at best. The net result in most of the samples I've seen are basically block after block of "slides" based content in a responsive wraper that is not accessible, performs poorly on devices (touch/trigger issues) because of bloat (causes Safari crashes) and looks inconsistent with styles and fonts (blurry because of scaling).

Our approach has been to understand why and what our authors hope to gain or benefit from integrating the 2 formats before we look at integrating the formats.

Look forward to your response.

Hi Luke,

I think my rationale at this very moment is that I am such a newbie I am not sure how to get things to work the way I want them to in Flow yet and I'm being efficient :) That said... I was playing with making this kind of Pangram game, so I need a textbox for each letter for my solution, and Claro was so easy in terms of aligning the textboxes and moving them around. I find the fluid boxes a bit cumbersome to deal with because I am not comfortable with them yet, which is on me of course. I still haven't figured out how to quickly maneuver in Flow. I'll stick with it. Appreciate your in-depth explanation as to why (and I get it - so no worries there).

Thanks for that,

A Pangram, that is a good example. Games in general seem to be the most common use case for Claro in Flow.

I would approach that type of game in Flow by using an external HTML widget, since it is so easy to manipulate strings to highlight the letters of the alphabet in a sentence.

There is an API in our product that allows external content, like HTML widgets, to get and set data and other states between the widget and the content.

Example attached.

Following up for fun - had a little coaching and now I know how to make "lot of tiny columns" ... (was really struggling with that for some reason). Another thing that I found very cool as a new user, the pangram interaction that I built "as one giant thing" could be copied into a smaller part of another page :) This tool is fascinating and unique, I very much appreciate the quick and thoughtful responses you provide when I ask questions. Thanks so much (again!)
