Master page setup

I would like to have a small horizontal bar appear along the top and bottom of each screen in my project. They will be in the colours of the theme that the client has chosen for the look and feel of the course. Is there a way to insert these items somewhere on a master page so that I don't have to manually add them to each page?

You can create Headers or Footers that are added to your project's main pages. They can contain pretty much anything, from a design element like you describe to text or even buttons (some client projects have used them for a custom navigation approach, for example).

The feature has some nice flexibility. For example, you can have two different header or footer options and you can control/set which pages use which of each (or neither).

Some things to note

These have different behaviors in Flow and Claro:

  • In Flow content, the headers and footers are added as sections at the top or bottom of the content pages.
  • In Claro these are added as Layers over the main content pages.

Also, you will only see these added in Full project preview and in the published content. They don't get shown on the Stage as you author, nor in Current page previews.

Is there a way to add a trigger to every page in a project at once? I'm attempting to add javascript that is triggered on page load for every page in a course (after the course was already completed - this is for a migration effort). The only way I can find to do this is adding them one at a time to each page, which is painfully time-consuming.

I need information control labels on much of the content we produce for U.S. Government. These labels need to appear at the top and bottom of each display page in Claro. Ideally, the content of the label would be controlled via a variable (so an Author would only have to change a single location) and could be translated. How to setup a disable/enable trigger for just a text page & 4 non-mandatory links (do not have to be clicked to proceed)

"I have a page with a lot of text and four links. While clicking on these links is not required to proceed to the next page, I want to set up the 'disable previous' page and 'enable next' page buttons on this page. This means that visitors will have to scroll down to the end of the page before the next button becomes available and they can proceed. I'd like to avoid using the navigation functions on the ribbon pane, if possible, and just use triggers or actions.

I'm trying to get branching to work in a course that I'm building in Claro, and it's becoming clear that it simply lacks the ability to do anything but the most rudimentary of content-skipping. Is there a way to convert target pages to primary pages that show in your main project structure?

I currently have a project that was developed in Claro that includes quite a few target pages to incorporate branching. The customer wants to eliminate any type of branching or extraneous clicking and has asked that I make the project linear. Is there a way for me to convert the target pages to main pages? Or do I need to redo every page from scratch? When I click on new page from existing project the only options I get are "Structure" and "Master".

Remove page number from page count total?
