Need to enable your learners to jump to a specific page in a Project without having to manually navigate there? Then our contentAPI Subeo Id feature is for you.

When you publish a web version of your project via our dynamic delivery system, Convey, or you publish a web package and then load it onto your own web server, you can then take advantage of our built-in URL bookmarking feature.

Why might I want to provide bookmarks within a project?

There are many potential use cases, but here are two common ones we've seen:

  • You have a knowledge base of content (using dominKnow | ONE's knowledge base theme) and want to point a colleague to a specific resource. You can share a single URL, and then when they open the knowledge base, they are on the page with the requested information. In addition, they can easily search the knowledge base itself.
    • NOTE: Our Knowledge Base Theme actually has this feature built into the Share button. When you select Share, it creates a link that provides a URL that opens immediately to the page you are currently on.
  • In Context Help. Perhaps you have a software system or other tool where you want to provide in-context help. Using a no-nav theme, you can publish your project and then inject page-specific URLs into your software help links, so when the user is in section A of the software, it will open a specific page of your help project developed in dominKnow | ONE dedicated to helping people with that specific portion of the software.

How do I use this feature?

Locate Subeo Id

The first step is to obtain the Subeo Id of the page to which you wish to provide a direct link.

  1. Access the project
  2. Select the desired page
  3. Select the three vertical dots (kabob menu) from the page or page structure and then select Properties or Page Properties
  4. In the page properties right flyout, locate the Subeo Id number and copy it.

Add the Information to the Project URL

Next, you need to add this information to the end of your published web URL with the following syntax:

  • ?subeoid=427357
  • where 427357 is the Subeo Id from the page properties.

e.g., current URL = https://domain.com/542525/4234/content.html

New page bookmarked URL =

https://domain.com/542525/4234/content.html?subeoid=427357
