Easily show the items in a List element one after the other, synchronized to page timing or a narration file

One of the available actions in dominKnow | ONE is to show the next item in a List Element.

You can use this to show the items in a List element in a sequential order, rather than all at once.

The timing can be controlled using the Timeline below the stage. It can also be controlled by any other available triggers, so you can get very creative!

Here's how to set the items in a List Element to appear one after the other, synchronized to the Timeline below the stage. This example sets the action to Page timing. The same steps can be for Narration audio file timing as well.

The first step is to select the List Element to be hidden on page load. To do this:

  • Select the List Element (1) on the Page (1)
  • Select the Interact Tab (2)
  • Select the Hidden on Load option (3)

On the Timeline below the Stage:

  • Drag and drop the red Playhead line to the time where you want the first List Item to appear (1)
  • Select Add Action (2)

On the Actions panel that opens:

  • Select List (1) on the left-side menu
  • Select Show Next List Item (2)
  • Select Next (3)

On the panel that opens to the right of the Stage:

  • On the Targets drop-down menu select the List Element (1) on your Page
  • Select Apply (2)

Previewing the page will let you confirm the timing.

To set up the timing for the remaining items on the list, repeat the process of moving the red playhead on the timeline and adding each Show Next List Item action.
