Starting on a Specific Page in a dominKnow | ONE Project

When you load a web based publish dominKnow, you may wish for the person accessing it to auto-jump to a specific page in your project.

In dominKnow | ONE we provide a content API that enables you to do just that.

Some uses cases for this include

  • Creating a knowledge base document and wanting to add context specific links within an internal application or web page that auto accesses the correct help page.
  • Adding Claro (fixed pixel) content to a Flow (responsive) page. You may have some content that requires specific layout designs more easily created in Claro, or you converted a PowerPoint and you want to show specific slides on different pages in a student handout created in Flow.
  • Sharing specific pages or sections of content to users asking questions that are answered in your knowledge base content.

Knowledge Base Theme

The Knowledge Base Theme provides this functionality directly in the theme itself. When navigating to a specific page you have a Share button that when selected will create a link you can use or send to anyone, that when accessed will open that specific page in the course.

Creating a Page Specific Link

If you are not using the Knowledge Base Theme, you can easily create the page specific link. the format is as follows:

https://fullurl.to.access.the.main.page/index.html?page=456789

Where the number 456789 is the unique page ID of the page you wish to display.

To determine what the unique page ID is:

  1. Access the specific page in your project when in dominKnow | ONE.
  2. Open the page properties (Kabob menu -> Properties).
  3. Locate the SubeoId and add it after ?page= in your URL

Embedding Claro pages in Flow

If you wish to add a Claro page to Flow:

  2. Copy the URL (and the SubeoId if applicable).
  3. Open your Flow project.

  5. Select are of the page you wish to insert the page and then from the Ribbon tab, select Insert -> Video -> From URL
  6. Paste the URL into the address location.
  7. Remove the leading https:// and, if approrpriate, add ?page=545466 (with your specific page id).
  8. Adjust the minimum height and width as needed.
  9. Select Update.
  10. Review your updated page.

NOTE: You may want to set your Claro project to use the no Nav option so users accessing the content this way are not confused by the additional set of navigation options in the Claro page.
