Summer 2024 Feature Release Highlights

Target Release Friday, Sept. 27 >> New Multilingual Projects and User Notification Controls plus improved Teams, Collections and Media Library experiences and more to make your work in dominKnow | ONE easier and more efficient

As we roll out our Summer 2024 Feature Release (7.4.4) for delivery, here's an overview of what's coming.

(Most Enterprise clients will receive the release on their UAT sites so they can begin their UAT processes.)

New Multilingual Projects simplify translation processes and offer a better learner experience

Our new translation option lets you easily add multiple translations to a single Project, including alternate media files for each language translation.

You can publish out one package that contains all languages and let learners (or their browser language setting) choose which language they prefer right within the published Project.

This article has all the details on this new feature.

New user controls for system email notifications let you choose what you want to receive

Users can now set what email notifications they wish to receive from dominKnow | ONE.

The settings for Administrators and Authors include controls for:

  • Authoring notifications
  • Review notifications
  • Ownership notifications

Powerful new ways to control content access permissions with our improved Teams and Collections features

We've made improvements to our Teams and Collections features, and together they now provide a whole new level of content access and permission controls.

You can now create and manage Teams of users and Collections of Projects more efficiently.

And maybe more importantly you can now assign Teams to Projects or Collections for Authoring or for Reviewing. When you add a user to a Team, they automatically receive the Team's content access, and similarly when you remove a user from a Team they lose the Team's content access permissions. This provides a more efficient way to control access to content.

You can also have multiple Owners for both Teams and Collections, providing more flexible control, particularly for large organizations.

Media Library improvements

We've updated the Media Library with new filtering options as well as new processes for uploading files and deleting files, including batch deleting. These improvements make it simpler than ever before to work with the media library and to manage your media files.

Ease of Use Improvements

This release includes a number of improvements to existing features to make them easier to work with and help you accomplish more when authoring.

These include:

  • You can now duplicate and copy individual tabs in a Tab Set, slides in a Carousel and nodes in a Timeline engage component. This includes copying a tab in one Tab Set and adding it to another Tab Set, for example.
  • The + Add Elements panel in Claro and the +Add Sections panel in Flow now have a Find field at the top to help you quickly search and locate specific options more easily.
  • You can now use your keyboard arrows keys to refine the position of elements added/layered over images and videos.
  • The Custom Filter options available when searching (for example, on the Browse Projects panel) now includes Tags, helping you refine your content searches even better than before.
  • There are now System Variables for pages used as Pages in a Light Box. These include Title, Description, Reading Time, Transcript, Page Notes, ID. These can be used on Target Pages as well as on Project outline pages when used in a Page in a Light box action.
  • The interface for selecting Publishing Targets for assigning to an element on a Page has been improved to make it easier to use. It now also includes Language Targets as well as the previous Publish Targets.
  • The interface for managing Publishing Targets has been improved to make it easier to use.
  • Page Comments submitted by Reviewers as well as by Authors in Full Project Preview on a Project with a header or footer are now added as comments for the Page rather than as comments on the footer or header. (Inline comments made on elements in the header or footer still log as comments for the footer or header.)
  • Panels that are set by an author to be collapsed when the page loads are now also set collapsed when the page loads for authoring until an author expands the panel while authoring
