Easily set a default effect for appearance/disappearance actions plus scroll-based Flow appearance effects in a Theme

The Theme Designer's Styles tab has a section for Animations.

This allows you to control these effects at a top design level rather than setting them individually.

It also simplifies mass changes, as changing these setting in the Theme immediately applies them to all Projects using the Theme.

Enable Scroll and Fade (Flow only)

This setting, if selected, sets a Fade appearance effect on elements on Flow pages as they scroll up into view from the bottom of the browser/page.

If not set, elements will have no appearance effect as they scroll interview from the bottom of the browser/page.

Default Display Effect

These settings allow you to set an appearance (or disappearance) effect on targets of actions such as:

  • Show
  • Hide
  • Toggle
  • Show Next List Item

You can set the effect plus its direction (if applicable) and the Duration, the length of time the effect will take from start to finish.

When you set up a Show action, for example, the Effect drop-down will be set to the Theme Default setting unless you choose to over ride that and set this specific action to no effect or a different effect.

Default Popup Effect

This setting allows you to set a default effect on Popups.

Popups are shown over the main page, and can be set up as a custom action. They are also used for providing feedback to the learner on Question pages.

The effect options are Fade or No Effect.

When you set up a Show Popup action, the Effect drop-down will be set to the Theme Default setting unless you choose to over ride that and set this specific action to no effect or fade.
