Quickly try out layout suggestions on the fly to see what looks best for your content

Flow’s Design Assistant is an intelligent tool that offers layout suggestions that you can try out easily for Rows, Groups and Elements on your page.

The Design Assistant opens to the right of the Stage when you:

  • Select a Row in either the breadcrumb above the stage or on the Page Structure Panel
  • Use the checkboxes to select more than one Group
  • Use the checkboxes to select more than one Element

For a Row the Design Assistant offers suggestions for all of the Groups in the Row.

If you use the checkboxes to multi-select more than one Group, the Design Assistant will show layout options for only the selected Groups.

For example, if there are three Groups but only two are selected, the Design Assistant will only offer layout suggestions for the selected Groups.

This also applies when you use the checkboxes to mutli-select Elements within a Group.

You can select different layout suggestions and see what they look like on the page.

When you make a selection, the Current Layout  thumbnail displays a Revert message.

Select the Current Layout to revert back to the original layout.

When you close the Design Assistant, the Current Layout state will be discarded and replaced by the new layout you have chosen.

Selecting a Design Assistant layout suggestion, the layout cascades down from the current breakpoint but won’t affect breakpoints that already have a different layout applied.

For example, if a Row is set to have all its Groups go to full width at the Extra Small breakpoint so they are shown vertically instead of horizontally, when you use the Design Assistant at the Large Breakpoint the Design Assistant changes will only be applied to the Large, Medium and Small breakpoints.
