Add interesting visual design to the transition between Sections on your page

Sections in a Flow page aren't limited to just straight-line edges.

You can use Section Decorations to add interesting visual effects such as a jagged line or angled line between Sections.

You can add decorations to an existing Section, or add them as Sections of their own.

Section Decorations will only be seen on the page if the adjoining Sections have different Section background colors.

For example, for a bottom decoration to be seen, the Section it is added to must have a different background color than the Section below it.

Adding a Decoration to an Existing Section

To add a Decoration to an existing section on a Page, you can work from the breadcrumb above the Stage or from the Container Inspector on an Element.

From the Breadcrumb:

  • Select the Section (1)
  • Select Decoration (2) in the grey bar above the breadcrumb

From the Container Inspector:

  • With the element selected, select the Container Inspector (1)
  • Select Section (2)
  • In the Background options, select the Decoration option (3)

A panel will open showing the options for Top and Bottom Decorations.

Select an option (or two if you want Bothe Top and Bottom decorations).

The change will be made on the Stage and you can navigate away from the panel.

Adding New Sections With Preset Decorations

When you are adding Sections to a Flow page, there are different ways to add a Section with a preset top or bottom decoration.

If you are on a Blank Page:

  • On the Add Your First Section panel below the Page, select Decorative Heading (1)
  • The Add to Your Page panel will open at the Section Decorations (2), and you choose one to add

If you are working on a page with content already added:

  • Select Add to your Page (1)
  • Select the All Sections tab (2)
  • Choose from the Section Decorations with Text, Top Section Decorations and Bottom Section Decorations under Layout Tools and Decorations (3)

These options add a Section to your page with a top or bottom decoration that is a shaped extension of the Section's background fill color.

You can use them on their own or you add more content to them.

You can add more elements into the default Group in the new Section.
