Step 1

Select the button element on the page.

Step 2

Select the Actions (lightning bolt) icon.

Step 3

Select Link to a File.

Step 4

The Link to a Library File panel opens to the right of the Stage.

Select Select a File from the Library.

Step 5

On the Media Library panel, select the file you want to open as a link.

Step 6

Select Insert.

Step 7

The asset file details are now shown on the right-side panel. You can choose whether the file should open in a New Window or in a Modal Window over the content page. For this example we'll leave the drop down set to New Window.

Select Update.

Step 8

The panel will close.

You'll see that the Actions icon has an indicator showing the action has been set.

You can use the Current Page or Full Project preview options to test the Link to File action.

This is really useful, especially for courses where learners need quick access to PDFs or supporting docs without digging through menus. Makes the workflow feel a lot cleaner.
