Step 1

Send a custom xAPI statement by first determing what the trigger for the statement will be, such as clicking on an element, page loading or even a variable equaling a certain value.

Step 2

In this case, select the Heading text element as we want the Send xAPI statement to be triggered when they click on "Heading". What the trigger for the statement is, will be up to you.

Step 3

Select Interact to create the Send xAPI action.

Step 4

 ¶ 

Select Triggers to determine what will be used to create the xAPI statement.

Step 5

 ¶ 

In this case, select "Is Interacted With..." as the statement will be triggered by the user clicking on Heading.

Step 6

Select Click, or the desired trigger type.

Step 7

 ¶ 

Click on Next for the next step.

Step 8

 ¶ 

Select Functions and Variables to show the Send xAPI Statement action.

Step 9

 ¶ 

Select Send xAPI Statement function.

Step 10

Select Next.

If you change your mind about Trigger type, you can use the drop down to adjust the choice here.

Step 12

Pick the desired xAPI Verb from the drop down. Available Verbs are ADL and TinCan verbs.

Step 13

Enter a unique Activity ID, following xAPI standards in the Activity ID section.

Step 14

 ¶ 

Pick the desired xAPI Type from the drop down. Available Types are ADL and TinCan types.

Step 15

 ¶ 

Right click in the Success, Response, and Score fields to select a variable if you wish to include course variable data in your xAPI statement.

Step 16

 ¶ 

In Name, enter the name for your custom xAPI statement.

Step 17

 ¶ 

Enter an optional Description for your custom xAPI statement.

Step 18

 ¶ 

Select Apply when you are done adding the details to your xAPI statement.

Step 19

 ¶ 

Once you add your custom xAPI statement you can add additional statements using the same trigger element, by clicking on the Add button in the right flyout, or add new statements based off new triggers using the steps just outlined.

Can you change when "passed" parameter occurs or is "earned" in xAPI statement outputs?

Currently a learen will be marked as having "passed" a learning object even if they have not engaged with any part of the object.  Seems to be a default.  Can you change the conditions or "when" this statement is passed or earned?
Current xAPI out put looks like:
Attempted> Experienced> passed> "custom statements">
ex: (top to bottome reads as last statement to first statement)

Send xAPI only once even if the interaction happens twice

Let's say I have a toggle that sends an xAPI statement when clicked. How do I prevent another xAPI statement from being sent if the learner changes the toggle? Technically, they could toggle back and forth sending a statement each time and my LRS admin would kill me--he would have to weed through the incorrect ones.
