Is it possible to create a stuent dashboard or home page that populates their progress per course module?

Kind of a progress marker that lives on one page where a student can see what courses they have completed and what is still needed to complete? Either a home page or a dashboard that is a visual indicator to their progress.

If you're thinking of multiple modules or courses the learner has taken from an LMS, then, no, there isn't a way to create a dashboard for this using dominKnow | ONE, for a number of reasons.

The content you create in dominKnow | ONE, when published, is a SCORM (usually) package that is loaded into the LMS, which then handles the launching and all required tracking, and storing completions, text scores etc. for reporting.

There isn't a way for a dominKnow | ONE course to access information in the LMS about what the student has done in other courses. And your dominKnow | ONE site doesn't receive any of that completion data from the LMS, the published course isn't connected back to the dominKnow | ONE site.

A dashboard like that is really something the LMS needs to provide, since it has all the info about the learner, what courses they are registered for, what completions they've taken care of, etc.

If on the other hand you're thinking of multiple modules in a single dominKnow | ONE course, there are ways to provide that type of information in that one course:

  • The menus in dominKnow | ONE courses display this type of information pretty much automatically, showing for example checkmarks beside completed sections.
  • Some of our Theme options such as the Tutorial theme, have more of a home page approach that shows in a more graphical way the sections in a course and their completion status.
  • And you could also build a custom home page to display statuses as well, using variables.

Hope this helps!

Here's an article about that theme option -- Tutorial Theme >> https://dki.io/1b06957f

And here's an example of it in action -- Stages of Car Seats >> https://share.cds.dominknow.one/934f0ed62cf21edb17852afcf128a8ad/e3a0ed36-9d6d-3140-a1d5-97ada5ca22bf/550A6CF7-95FE-0DB5-5455-2E846848A927/index.html
